Rauhala Heritage Farms

Rauhala Heritage Farm is a privately owned farm on the outskirts of the town of Sointula, on Malcolm Island, B.C.
Rauhala is surrounded by a 100 acre forest with our own private bay with fields, a creek and a beach campsite area there you can look out at the mountains of Northern Vancouver Island, where you may get to see some whales.
We have two bunkie-style, day cabins for those wishing to have a ‘glamping’ style experience. Bring your own blankets and water. Pack-in/Pack-out garbage.

Whimsical ocean images and acrylic pouring techniques are influenced by the natural world. Tricia Bowen’s work is abstract and often done on Malcolm Island reclaimed wood with discarded planks, cedar boards and twisted driftwood being transformed into canvases.

Karsten Construction is a small firm that has extensive experience in all aspects of the building process, from planning to finish. We have shipped log and timber frame houses to Switzerland and Vancouver Island. Our preference is to use local resources such as Western Red Cedar, Douglas-Fir, and Sitka Spruce. However, we also have been using innovative technologies such as : SIPS, ICFs, and laser instrumentation throughout the past 20 years.

Open every day, noon to 4 pm, beginning May 2024 to September 2024. By appointment in the shoulder season, just call or text. We are happy to open the Museum for you! Admission by donation (suggested $5 per adult). An interactive and entertaining experience for the entire family. Be sure to see the Sturgeon 1, an historic wooden gillnet fishing boat built in Sointula and situated at the marina, 2 km north along 1 st Street.

Sointula Museum

Open every day, noon to 4 pm, beginning May 2024 to September 2024. By appointment in the shoulder season, just call or text. We are happy to open the Museum for you! Admission by donation (suggested $5 per adult). An interactive and entertaining experience for the entire family. Be sure to see the Sturgeon 1, an historic wooden gillnet fishing boat built in Sointula and situated at the marina, 2 km north along 1 st Street.
