Community Website
We maintain this website to provide information on Malcolm Island services, businesses, non-profit organizations and tourist-related information.
Online Community Calendar
We maintain a calendar of events on our website and encourage the community to submit their information to be posted.
Monthly Newsletter
We send out an electronic newsletter about upcoming events and announcements. Our members receive this by email and it can also be seen online.
Bulletin Boards
We maintain a local physical bulletin board with up-to-date community information.
Annual Malcolm Island Brochure
We create and distribute an annual visitor guide/map brochure that includes local history and travel-related information including maps and business/service listings. The brochures are distributed free to visitors, local chambers and tourist info centres on Vancouver Island. Businesses and service providers pay to list in this collective marketing effort.
Visitor Services Centre
We are the official Destination BC Visitor Centre for Sointula and provide in-person assistance to those looking for information on accommodations, local businesses and services, trails, whales, historic attractions and more.
Free Green Bike Program
During the summer months, we maintain a fleet of free bicycles available for visitors and residents to borrow. This service is provided through a partnership with the Regional District of Mount Waddington.
Event Sponsorship
We organize or assist with everything from first aid courses to fun events to boost community spirit.
Community Market & Garden Stand
We manage a year-round central location for local gardeners to sell their produce and a summer bi-weekly market space for local vendors to sell their wares.
Administrative Support
We provide admin support for local non-profits to assist with their fundraising and communication efforts.
Networking
We participate in networking opportunities with local, regional, provincial and federal agencies to be able to provide up-to-date information that our community can benefit from.
