Who We Are

The Sointula Resource Centre is a non-profit organization founded in 2002. We are dedicated to ensuring the residents, visitors, and organizational partners of Malcolm Island have access to information and support services to make life here viable and sustainable. We offer a variety of support to meet the needs of our changing community.
The purposes of the Society are:
a) Facilitate access to community and governmental services and resources by providing information and technical assistance to the small, remote and rural community of Malcolm Island, British Columbia.
b) Improve food security in the Malcolm Island community by operating a food distribution
program and partnering with local groups to promote sustainable food security initiatives.
c) Provide capacity-building and skills-development opportunities to underserved and vulnerable members of the Malcolm Island community by offering individualized support
services and access to training in collaboration with non-profit groups and governmental agencies.
d) Promote public appreciation of the work of local artists and community participation in local artistic events by offering exhibition space and providing support services to community partners involved in the arts.
